Lake Victoria is the famous being the largest Lake in Africa and the second largest fresh water lake in the World. The Lake spreads with an area of 68,800 sq km and stands 1100m above the sea level in Tanzania. The Lake’s border area touches Uganda and Kenya.

The major attractions of Lake Victoria are the cruises and fishing trips. Many archipelagos are contained within the lake, as are numerous reefs, often just below the surface of the clear waters. With more than 200 species of fish, Lake Victoria is famous for fishing. Out of which the Tilapia is the most economically important.

Lake Victoria is one of the key water sources of the White Nile. The Lake is also famous for holding Africa’s most geographical features.

The best time to visit the spectacular Victoria Falls is from February to May, directly after the region’s summer rains, when you’ll see the world’s largest sheet of falling water flowing at its greatest volume.

The green season usually kicks off in about November with the first spring rains but it takes time for the water that has fallen in the Angolan Highlands to wend its way down to a series of massive gorges.

Like other national parks, travelling to Lake Arusha National Park is also safe. Although some health concerns are necessary to follow, like mosquito repellent with at least 30% DEET, antimalaria medication and covering the skin during the evening time.

Most importantly you need to follow the instructions of your guide in your whole trip.
